Patrick L. Kurtz was born on 23 August 1958 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Elmer Jacob Kurtz and Ruth M. Grove.1 Patrick L. Kurtz married Bonnie Lou Holmes circa 1988. Patrick L. Kurtz died on 4 May 2006 at his residence, Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 47 years, 8 months and 11 days.1 He was buried on 9 May 2006 in the Kurtz Family Cemetery, located in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
His obituary was published on 7 May 2006 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Patrick L. Kurtz, 47, of 909 Weldon St., Montoursville, Pa., died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at his residence.
Born Aug. 23, 1958, in Williamsport, he was the son of Elmer J. and Ruth M. Grove Kurtz.
Surviving besides his mother are his children, Brian and Heather Kurtz, both of North Carolina; and a brother, Gene L. Kurtz of Montoursville.
He had worked for Weis Markets. He was a member of the Lions Club in Montoursville and a life member of the Willing Hand Hose Fire Co., where he was a past captain of the fire police and a chaplain.
He was actively involved in the Delaware Wesleyan Church. In his pastime, he enjoyed his children.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 8, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with his pastor, Rev. Michael C. Reece, officiating. Friends will be received Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, in Kurtz Cemetery, Eldred Township.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Willing Hand Hose Fire Co., PO Box 367, Montoursville, PA 17754.1
