     Lucy J. Sampson was born in December 1845 at Macon County, Missouri.1 She was the daughter of Fountain Baker Sampson and Melissa Hickerson. Lucy J. Sampson married, at age 17, Perry J. Wright on Thursday, 28 May 1863 at Macon County, Missouri. Lucy J. Sampson died on 16 January 1907 at La Plata, Macon County, Missouri, at age 61 years and 1 month.1
     She and Perry J. Wright appeared on the census of 16 June 1880 at Richland Township, Macon County, Missouri. Lucy J. Sampson appeared on the census of 15 June 1900 at Richland Township, Macon County, Missouri. Her obituary was published sometime in January 1907 in the The Macon Republican, printed in Macon, Macon County, Missouri. Her obituary stated:

     Mrs. Lucy WRIGHT died at her home southwest of LaPlata, MO, 16 January 1907 from blood poison in her hand. She was the widow of the late Perry Wright and the mother of five surviving sons and one daughter.
