     John Pilote was born on 4 March 1844 at Quebec, Quebec County, Quebec Province, Canada. He married Mary Matilda Haney, daughter of Aaron Haney and Melissa Jane Claypool. John Pilote died on 23 October 1929 at age 85 years, 7 months and 19 days. He was buried in the Pittsburg Cemtery, located in Pittsburg, Van Buren County, Iowa.
