Frances Helen Strauss was born on 29 March 1935 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,4,3 She was the daughter of George Strauss and Laura A. Schuler.3 Frances Helen Strauss first married Donald Garman circa 1957.3 Frances Helen Strauss married a second time, at age 36, Verus L. Farr Jr., age 47, son of Verus L. Farr and Mildred Mae Sholder, on Thursday, 30 December 1971.1,2,3 Frances Helen Strauss died on 28 January 2000 at home, 2295 Lycoming Creek Road, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 64 years, 9 months and 30 days.4,2,3 She was buried on 31 January 2000. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Charles J. Cummings.3
She was widowed by the death of Donald in 1967.3 Her obituary was published on 30 January 2000 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Frances H. Farr, 64, of 2295 Lycoming Creek Rd., died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at home. She and her husband, Verus L. “Tommy” Farr Jr., observed their 28th wedding anniversary on Dec. 30.
She was the owner and operator of Farr’s Motel. She was a life member of Ascension Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener and collected porcelain dolls.

Surviving, besides her husband, are a brother, John M. Strauss, and a sister, Catherine M. Cardene, both of Williamsport.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Garman in 1967; two brothers, Joseph W. and George Strauss; and a sister, Mary R. Galligher. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, 2111 Linn St., with the Rev. Charles Cummings officiating. There will be no visitation.3
