Jacob Franklin Sweeley was born on 29 March 1855 at Armstrong Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Jacob Sweeley and Henrietta Decker.1 Jacob Franklin Sweeley first married, at age 21, Ida Belle Fessler, age 18, daughter of Jacob Fessler and Jane Knox Thomas, on Tuesday, 23 January 1877 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 Jacob Franklin Sweeley married a second time, at age 36, Martha Jane King, age 21 on Friday, 15 May 1891.2 Jacob Franklin Sweeley died on 7 April 1894 at Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 39 years and 9 days.2
He became a widower at the age of 34 with the death of Ida on 22 March 1890.1,2
