     Ada Edna Evans was born on 18 September 1924 at Claiborne County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of William Fate Evans and Myrtle Elminie Johnson. Ada Edna Evans first married, at age 22, David Isaac Smith, son of Horace Tilman Smith and Maggie Belle VanBibber, on Wednesday, 8 January 1947 at Middlesboro, Bell County, Kentucky. Ada Edna Evans married a second time Roy E. Massey circa 1956. Ada Edna Evans died on 27 March 2001 at Fort Sanders Medical Center, Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee, at age 76 years, 6 months and 9 days. She was buried on 30 March 2001 in the Hill Cemetery, located in Speedwell, Claiborne County, Tennessee.

SPEEDWELL, Tenn. ---- Ada Edna (Evans) Smith, 76, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Fort Sanders Medical Center (Knoxville, KNOX County, Tennessee).

Born Sept. 18, 1924, in CLAIBORNE County, Tennessee, she was the daugher of the late Will and Myrtle (Johnson) Evans. She was a member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David Isaac Smith; son Billy Ray Massey; brothers, Esco, Howard, Ulyes, and Albert Evans.

Survivors include her sons and their wives, Larry and Kim Smith, Speedwell; Johnny and Sharon Smith, Knoxville, Tenn; daughter, Faye Tinnel and her husband, Tommy, Speedwell; sister, Fannie Brummitt, Sweetwater, Tenn., and Linda Brummitt, Mendon, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 8 p.m. today (Thursday, March 29, 2001) at Reece Valley Chapel with Elders Steve Jepson and Russell Figueira. The eulogy will be delivered by the Rev. 'Little Vic' Graves, and a poem will be read by John Smith.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hill Cemetery (Jones Ridge, Speedwell, CLAIBORNE Co., TN). Pallbearers will be Tony Poteet, David Dosett, David Smith, Donnie Smith, Kern Myers, and Robert Cobb. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at Reece Funeral Home and Valley Chapel 869-3651 or 626-4249.
