George A. Dooris Jr. was born on 29 March 1916 at Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.2,3 He was the son of George A. Dooris and Theresa I. Smith.2 George A. Dooris Jr. married, at age 24, Genevieve C. Roller, age 21, daughter of William Henry Roller and Edna Viola Bartlett, on Monday, 17 June 1940.2 George A. Dooris Jr. died on 20 March 2002 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 85 years, 11 months and 20 days.2,3 He was buried on 23 March 2002 in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, located in Muncy, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Monsignor Stephen D. McGough.2

He served on the Williamsport pension, zoning and hearing boards and was a WWII Army veteran.
He and his wife, the former Genevieve C. Roller, would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this June 17.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Patricia A. Sinclair and Diane Dooris, both of Williamsport; a sister, Edith Tuxford of Phoenix, AZ; two grandsons, Steven J. and Michael T. Sinclair and two great-grandsons, Drew and Austin Sinclair.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, with his priest, Monsignor Stephen D. McGough, officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Friends will be received at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, on Friday from 7-9 p.m. There will be a prayer vigil at 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to either, St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701 or SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.2
