Llewellyn E. Harer was born on 19 February 1913 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Harry William Harer and Grace A. Murray.2 Llewellyn E. Harer first married Marie S. Cavanaugh circa 1933.2 Llewellyn E. Harer married a second time Kathryn Elensky circa 1995.2 Llewellyn E. Harer died on 26 March 2002 at Manor Care Health Center, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 89 years, 1 month and 7 days.1,2 He was buried on 28 March 2002 in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend John K. Manno.2
Llewellyn E. Harer appeared on the census of 10 January 1920 in the household of Harry William Harer and Grace A. Murray at South Williamsport, 1st Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He became a widower at the age of 80 with the death of Marie on 22 November 1993.3,4 His obituary was published on 22 March 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Llewellyn E. Harer, 89, of 267 Saw Mill Road, Cogan Station, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Manor Care South in Williamsport, where he had been a guest about a week.
He was born in Williamsport Feb. 19, 1913, a son of Harry W. and Grace L. Sholder [Murray] Harer. His first wife, Marie Cavanaugh Harer, died in 1993 and his second wife, Kathryn Elensky, survives.
For 20 years, he was a machinist with Textron Lycoming, retiring in 1974. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and especially fishing.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, George Harer of Walworth, NY; one brother, Robert Harer of Williamsport; one sister, Gladys McDaniel of Loyalsock; three grandchildren, Patricia, Amelia and Andrew and three great-grandchildren, Gunner, Grayson and Quinn.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Jean and Edith and two brothers, Dalton and Truman.
A celebration of his life will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Maneval Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with his Priest, Rev. John K. Manno, officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 tonight.2 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Llewellyn's last known residence was Cogan Station, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
