Nellie Davis was born on 5 March 1916. She was the daughter of Canada Milburn Davis and Vesta L. Yoakum. Nellie Davis married Herman Ramsey circa 1936. Nellie Davis died on 2 December 2000 at NHC Health Care, Farragut, Knox County, Tennessee, at age 84 years, 8 months and 27 days. She was buried on 5 December 2000 in the Burch Cemetery, located in Claiborne County, Tennessee.

RAMSEY, MRS. NELL DAVIS - age 84, of Tazewell, Tenn., was born March 5, 1916, and passed away December 2, 2000, at the NHC Health Care in Farragut, Tenn.
She was a member of the Tazewell United Methodist Church. She taught school over 42 years in the Claiborne County School System as a devoted and loved Second Grade Teacher most of her career. She was an avid supporter of the Lady Vols Basketball Team.
She was preceded in death by husband, Herman Ramsey; brothers, Walter, Hugh, Claude, Carl and Clay Davis; sisters, Laura D'Angelo, Mattie Jane Cochran, and Ada Moore. She is survived by her sister, Jessie Graves of Tazewell, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 4, 2000, in the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel from 5-7 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Eddie Overholt officiating. Music by Janice Derreberry. Interment Tuesday, December 5, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Burch Cemetery. Pallbearers: nieces and nephews. Claiborne Funeral Home, in charge of arrangements.
