     William Silas Haney was born on 18 May 1870 at Keosququa, Van Buren County, Iowa. He was the son of Aaron Haney and Melissa Jane Claypool. William Silas Haney married, at age 21, Lillian May Stoops, age 17 on Sunday, 4 October 1891. William Silas Haney died on 27 September 1945 at age 75 years, 4 months and 9 days. He was buried in the Pittsburg Cemtery, located in Pittsburg, Van Buren County, Iowa.
