David H. Alexander was born on 30 October 1927 at Claiborne County, Tennessee. He was the son of William Hayes Alexander and Luna Crate Pruitt. David H. Alexander died on 14 August 2000 at age 72 years, 9 months and 15 days. He was buried in the Alexander Cemetery, located in Speedwell, Claiborne County, Tennessee.
His obituary was published sometime in August 2000 His obituary stated:
ALEXANDER, DAVID H. - age 72, of Speedwell, Tenn., passed away at his sisters home, August 14, 2000. He was born in Claiborne Co., Tenn, on October 30, 1927, and he was the son of the late William H. and Luna Alexander. He also was preceded in death by his brother, George W. Alexander, USAF. Survivors include his sisters, Harvalou Welch of Speedwell, Tenn., Alice Thomas of Dayton, Ohio; brothers, Bill Alexander of Kingston, Tenn., Albert Alexander of Speedwell, Tenn; one aunt, Lula Mae Foust of Clinton, Tenn; several nieces and nephews and long time friend, Larry Tidwell.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Hill officiating, music by Kathy Robinson. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Shumate Funeral Home. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Alexander Cemetery in Speedwell, Tenn. Pallbearers will be Larry Tidwell, Hayes Alexander, Stephen Alexander, Brian Alexander, Jack Alexander and Joe Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Alexander, Ricky Welch, Mike Welch and Cole Myers. Shumate Funeral Home, Middlesboro, KY, in charge.
