Otis Elmer Hawkins was born on 8 November 1908 at Phillipsburg, Laclede County, Missouri. He married, at age 20, Almeda Catherine Dorn, age 20, daughter of Charles Granville Dorn and Mary Lulu Swager, on Wednesday, 30 October 1929 at Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Otis Elmer Hawkins died on 26 May 1997 at Nebraska at age 88 years, 6 months and 18 days.
He became a widower at the age of 59 with the death of Almeda on 12 January 1968.
