Odevah Byrd

     Odevah Byrd was born in 1919. He was the son of Parnick Byrd and Flora [—?—]. Odevah Byrd married Freda Yoakum, daughter of Alvis Greer Yoakum and Lillian VanBebber, circa 1944. Odevah Byrd died on 4 September 1999 at Oak Ridge Methodist Hospital, Claiborne County, Tennessee, at age 80 years. He was buried on 8 September 1999 in the Campbell Cemetery, located in Claiborne County, Tennessee.

BYRD, ODEVAH - age 80, of Jacksboro, passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at Oak Ridge Methodist Medial Center. He was a member of Jacksboro First Baptist Church.

Mr. Byrd was a US Army Veteran of WWII.

Preceded in death by parents, Parnick and Flora Byrd and son, Odevah Byrd, Jr. Survivors: wife, Freda Yoakum Byrd, Jacksboro; sons and daughters-in-law, Kyle and Peggy Byrd, Nashville, Ralph Byrd, Jacksboro; four grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Fleda and Sam Strange, Union City, Tenn.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 5 p.m. at Jacksboro First Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Parker officiating. The family will receive friends at 4 p.m. at the church prior to the services. Private interment will be at Campbell Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home.
