Clair E. Metzger

     Clair E. Metzger was born on 11 August 1925 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Isaiah Metzger and Helen M. Horn.1 Clair E. Metzger married, at age 24, Betty Falls on Saturday, 3 June 1950.1 Clair E. Metzger died on 7 February 2003 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 77 years, 5 months and 27 days.1
     His obituary was published on 9 February 2003 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Clair E. Metzger, 77, of 454 Quaker State Road, Montoursville, died Feb. 7, 2003, at Williamsport Hospital. Born Aug. 11, 1925, in Williamsport, he was a son of Isaiah and Helen Horn Metzger.

He and his wife, the former Betty Falls, would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 3.

Mr. Metzger retired from Montour Oil Co. in Montoursville, where he worked as a dispatcher.

Mr. Metzger was a member of the Farragut United Methodist Church and the Wheel Inn in Ralston.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Larry of Williamsport, Harold of Montoursville and Dale of Jersey Shore; two daughters, Doris Fogleman of Montoursville and Shirley Metzger of Muncy; one brother, Floyd Metzger of Pennsdale; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with his pastor, Rev. Donald. E. Yorks, officiating. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Farragut United Methodist Church, 45 Route 864, Montoursville, PA 17754.1
