Mary Elizabeth Ulmer was born on 30 December 1914 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Levi Joseph Ulmer and Emma Margaret Myers.1 Mary Elizabeth Ulmer died on 14 July 2005 at age 90 years, 6 months and 14 days.1
She was Music Teacher. Her obituary was published on 17 July 2005 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Mary E. Ulmer, 90, a resident of Roseview Court, died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at the Roseview Center.
Mary was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church. She was a retired Elementary School Music Teacher with the Williamsport Area School District, having finished a 37-year teaching career in 1976.
Mary was a 1932 Lock Haven High School graduate and she earned bachelor’s degrees from Lock Haven State Teachers College in 1936 and Mansfield State Teachers College in 1938. She taught in several rural districts before coming to teach in Williamsport in 1943. During her 34-year career in the Williamsport schools, she taught at Clay, the old Roosevelt building, Lose, Webster and finished at the Old Jackson School. She also served as a traveling elementary music instructor, covering five schools in the Williamsport area.
Mary had a lifelong interest in matters of local history and genealogy. She was a life member and former director of the Blooming Grove Historical Society. Membership and interests in the Lycoming County Historical Society and the James V. Brown Library occupied Mary. She was a member and past president of the Williamsport Education Association, the Williamsport Music Club and a director of the Junior Music Club.

Surviving are nephews Dr. David C. Ulmer Jr. (Mary) of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Charles D. Ulmer (Linda) of Harrisburg; great nieces Robyn Russotto and Drew Ulmer both of Harrisburg, Jeanne Ulmer of Denver, Colo., and Christine Madar of Windyville, Mo; cousins, Barbara Fullmer (Walt) and Richard Ely (Brenda) of Calif; and a great-great-niece and nephew.
Mary was predeceased by her brother, Dr. David C. Ulmer.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Revs. Gwen N. Bernstine and Larry K. Waltz officiating. Burial will be in the Blooming Grove Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name can be made to the Blooming Grove Historical Society, P.O. Box 105, Cogan Station, PA 17728, or to First Baptist Church, 420 Elmira St., Williamsport PA 17701.1
