They were members of the First Methodist Church that was organized in Lycoming County. The family Bible was in the possession of Mrs. Nancy Jane (Gilday) Bennett in 1911, a descendant. This Bible contained the following records: Derick, son of Herman and Eva, born 1794; Joseph, son of Herman and Eva, born 1796; Mary, daughter of Herman and Eva, born 1798; Abraham, son of Herman and Eva, born 1799.
