     Rachel Pawling was born on 13 July 1765. She was the daughter of John Pawling and Elizabeth DeHaven. Rachel Pawling was baptized, at age 8 months and 18 days, on Monday, 31 March 1766. She married, at age 18, George Rieff on Wednesday, 7 April 1784.
