Carl Leroy Stabler was born on 29 June 1930 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Jesse A. Stabler and Caroline Sondheimer.1 Carl Leroy Stabler married Barbara Schechle in 1955 at Houston, Harris County, Texas.1 Carl Leroy Stabler died on 30 January 2014 at Houston, Harris County, Texas, at age 83 years, 7 months and 1 day.1 He was buried in the Memorial Drive United Methodist Church Columbarium, located in Houston, Harris County, Texas.1
He was employed by the Exxon Corporation in their credit department in 1980. He retired in 1986 from Exxon / Mobile after 30 years of service.1 His obituary was published sometime in February 2014 in the local paper, printed in Houston, Harris County, Texas. His obituary stated:
Carl Leroy Stabler, 83, passed away Jan 30, 2014 after a short battle with cancer.
Carl was born in Williamsport, PA to Jesse and Carrie Stabler.
His parents and sister Mert predeceased him. Carl's family will always love and remember him including Barbara, his bride of 58 years; daughter Susan, sons Mike and Scott as well as partners Sharon, Marla and Molly and grand-children Elle and Dakota.
Carl matriculated from Williamsport High School and Drexel University. He retired from Exxon/Mobile in 1986 after 30 years. Carl loved coaching baseball for the Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association and mentoring at Thornwood and Meadow Wood Elementary Schools. He also loved playing bridge, gardening, taking photos and solving all kinds of puzzles. Carl had a zeal for traveling with Barbara, going to Germany, South America, Scotland and all fifty states.
A memorial service will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church (MDUMC), 12955 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77079.
