Elmer A. Staebler was born on 5 April 1875 at Farm of David Stäbler, Niles Township, Floyd County, Iowa. He was the son of David Stäbler and Susanna Ulmer. Elmer A. Staebler married, at age 40, Freda Dortha Hauser, daughter of Theobald Hauser and Mary Wagner, on Saturday, 25 December 1915 at Iowa. Elmer A. Staebler died on 2 May 1941 at age 66 years and 27 days. He was buried in the Riverside Cemetery, located in Charles City, Floyd County, Iowa.
He Elmer Staebler graduated from college in Charles City, Iowa, in 1898. then he resumed working on the family farm. He and his family were members of the Congregational Church. He was also a member of the Masons, the Woodmen, the IOOF (Independent Order of Oddfellows) and the Rebekahs.
