Walter Eugene Marlin, 88, Springfield, Mo., died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, in Maranatha Manor Nursing Home, Springfield. He was born in Springfield, Mo., on November 9, 1918, to Fred and Virgie Marlin.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and also worked in the print shop at the Gospel Publishing House for many years.
Walter was preceded in death by his first wife, Alberta Evans Marlin; his second wife, Juanita DeHaven; one brother, David Marlin; and a sister, Geraldine Marlin. He is survived by three sons, Bruce Marlin, Rick Marlin and Fred Marlin; one grandson, Brent Marlin; two granddaughters, Rebecca Kopp and Naomi Marlin; two great-grandchildren, Tori and Adrian; two brothers, Paul Marlin and Fon Marlin; and four sisters, Virginia Brooks, Bettie Stokes, Mary Parker and Millie Alexander.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield, Mo. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening in the funeral home.
