     John E. Davis was born on 24 June 1905 at Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of David J. Davis and Mary Robbins Jenkins.2 John E. Davis married, at age 30, Francis Catherine Thomas, age 27, daughter of David Nathan Thomas Jr. and Frances Amelia Bower, on Monday, 24 June 1935 at Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut.1 John E. Davis died on 21 August 1972 at Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, at age 67 years, 1 month and 28 days.1 He was buried in the State Road United Methodist Church Cemetery, located in Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
