     Earl Slocum was born on 8 October 1886. He was the son of Nelson Everett Slocum and Sarah Jane Smith. Earl Slocum died on 27 April 1895 at Wayne County, Iowa, at age 8 years, 6 months and 19 days. He was buried in the Kirby Cemetery, located in Washington Township, Wayne County, Iowa.
