Emily Cawood was born on 1 September 1856 at Speedwell, Claiborne County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of John McCrunnel Cawood and Marlena VanBebber. Emily Cawood first married, at age 13, William Wilson on Saturday, 9 July 1870. Emily Cawood married a second time, at age 23, Jacob Godfrey Ellis on Thursday, 17 June 1880 at Claiborne County, Tennessee.1 Emily Cawood died on 2 April 1924 at age 67 years, 7 months and 1 day.
