Edward Raymond Murray was born on 16 February 1889.1 He was the son of Michael C. Murray and Clara Sholder. Edward Raymond Murray married Margaret E. Bower, daughter of Christian L. Bower and Margaret [—?—], circa 1915.2 Edward Raymond Murray died on 18 January 1953 at Underwood Convalescent Home, Pennsylvania, at age 63 years, 11 months and 2 days.1 He was buried on 20 January 1953 in the Buchanan Baptist Church Cemetery, located in Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Clyde E. Rickabaugh.1

Edward Raymond Murray appeared on the census of 26 April 1910 in the household of Clara Sholder at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Edward Raymond Murray and Margaret E. Bower were cousins, however the exact relationship has yet to be determined. Margaret's mother could be a Murray, as Michael C. Murray had a sister Margaret. Edward Raymond Murray appeared on the census of 2 January 1920 in the household of Clara Sholder at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He became a widower at the age of 61 with the death of Margaret on 5 September 1950.2 His obituary was published on 19 January 1953 in the Daily Gazette & Bulletin, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
E. Raymond Murray, 63, of Bottle Run, died suddenly at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan 18, 1953, at the Underwood Convalescent Home.
Mr. Murray was a life-long member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church and a member of the Bottle Run Grange.
Survivng are two brothers, William H., of this city, and Lester G., of Naugatuck, Conn.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, 331 Elmira Street, with his pastor, the Rev. Clyde E. Rickabaugh, officating. Burial will be in Buchanan Cemetery.1
