     William Henry Newell Stiles was born on 14 November 1849 at Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio. He first married, at age 23, Mary VanBibber, daughter of James Timberlake VanBibber and Mary Evaline Raison, on Thursday, 26 June 1873 at Sacramento, Sacramento County, California.1 William Henry Newell Stiles married a second time, at age 39, Anna May Brown, age 26 on Wednesday, 7 August 1889 at Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio. William Henry Newell Stiles died on 19 September 1931 at Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, at age 81 years, 10 months and 5 days.
     He became a widower at the age of 23 with the death of Mary on 6 October 1873.
