Muir married, at age 26, Sarah Elizabeth Stabler, age 32, daughter of Abraham Stabler and Margaretha Anna Rhote, on Thursday, 21 December 1911.2 John M. Muir died on 27 October 1969 at age 84 years, 6 months and 22 days.2,1 He was buried in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
John M. Muir also went by the name of Jack. He was a dentist between 1910 and 1950. He and Sarah Elizabeth Stabler appeared on the census of 8 January 1920 at Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. As of 1930, John M.'s surname has also been spelled as Meier. He and Sarah Elizabeth Stabler appeared on the census of November 1930 at Williamsport, 14th Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
