William Massey Dixon was born on 28 November 1823 at Wheeling, Ohio County, Virginia. He was the son of Henry Dixon and Mary Massey. William Massey Dixon married, at age 20, Margaret Jane Nichols, age 17 on Wednesday, 28 February 1844 at Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana. William Massey Dixon died on 25 November 1896 at Warren County, Indiana, at age 72 years, 11 months and 28 days.
