     Lula Mead Slocum was born on 2 February 1869 at Wayne County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Nelson Everett Slocum and Sarah Jane Smith. Lula Mead Slocum married Sedwick Kirby. Lula Mead Slocum died in 1925 at age 55 years. She was buried in the Kirby Cemetery, located in Washington Township, Wayne County, Iowa.
