Rena E. Erwin was born on 23 April 1921. She was the daughter of Edwin Erwin and Anna M. Evans.1 Rena E. Erwin married [—?—] Morrett circa 1941. Rena E. Erwin married Richard Charles Updegraff, son of Robert Lee Updegraff and Elizabeth Virginia Fisher, in 1965.1 Rena E. Erwin died on 7 October 2008 at age 87 years, 5 months and 14 days.
Her obituary was published on 10 October 2008 in the York Daily Record, printed in York, York County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
YORK-Rena Elizabeth Updegraff died Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Born April 23, 1921, in York, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin (Anna Evans) and the youngest sister of Mabel Raimer, Lulu Berkheimer, and Dorothy Wetzel, all deceased.
Throughout her life, she had been employed by Stauffer's Bakery, Foxes Bakery, and King Korn Stamps. For a short time, she was self-employed, selling her home made baked goods at the local markets. In later years, she provided private home care for the aged.
She was the widow of Robert Edward Fraley, George Robert Morrett, and Richard Updegraff.
She will be missed deeply by her two daughters, Gwendolyn Lou Fraley and Penelope Ann Myers (Morrett), wife of George Myers, III; her son, Michael Albert Morrett; as well as her grandchildren, Jill Boston, Robert Fraley, Esq., Shawn Myers, and Chad Myers; and greatgrandchildren, Kyra and Luke Boston.
A viewing will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, followed by a service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Glenn Dietrich officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. www.kefferfh.com.2
