Lynn Adam Overdorff1

Lynn Adam Overdorff was born on 25 February 1928 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He married, at age 24, Barbara Vivian Thompson, age 19, daughter of Harry Larue Thompson and Helen Esther Ulmer, on Saturday, 11 October 1952 at Saint John's Evangelical United Brethren Church, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 Lynn Adam Overdorff died on 3 October 2007 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 79 years, 7 months and 8 days.1 He was buried in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
His obituary was published on 4 October 2007 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Lynn A. Overdorff Jr., 79, of 2341 Linwood Ave., Williamsport, died peacefully on Wednesday morning, October 3, 2007 at the Williamsport Hospital.
Born and raised in Williamsport on February 25, 1928 and was the son of the late Lynn and Esther Williams Overdorff Sr.
Lynn was a 1946 graduate of Williamsport High School and played football for the undefeated and untied WHS Football Team of 1945. He received a bachelor's degree from Lock Haven State University and his Master's Degree from Bucknell University.
Lynn was a former Guidance Counselor at Curtin Junior High and Lycoming Valley Middle School. He also enjoyed coaching Junior High Football in the late 50's into 1963.
Lynn served in the aftermath of WWII, with the US Army where he served as an MP in Japan for three years, and was then recalled to service in 1950 for the Korean Conflict and received a Purple Heart for his service.
He was a long-standing member of the Masons. Some of the many things he enjoyed were traveling throughout the United States and abroad as a historian. He was an avid follower of Penn State and Williamsport Football Teams, and also enjoyed watching his grandchildren sports activities.
Surviving are his loving wife of 27 years, Jacquelyn W. Overdorff; four children, Pamela Shenberger of Cogan Station, Douglas Overdorff of Williamsport, Valerie Kaulenas of Brookline, Mass., and Kimberly Noll of Catawissa; two step-children, Robert White of Texas, and Elizabeth Youngman of Muncy; a sister, Retta Boley of Lynnwood, Wash., and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara V. (Thompson) Overdorff, and his daughter, Linda G. Overdorff.
A private graveside service will be held in Wildwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Sanders Mortuary.1
