Anna May Updegraff was born on 5 October 1920 at Goldsboro, York County, Pennsylvania.1,2 She was the daughter of Robert Lee Updegraff and Elizabeth Virginia Fisher.1 Anna May Updegraff married, at age 22, Thomas John Kline Jr., age 21, son of Thomas John Kline and Rose Mary Kirchner, on Saturday, 9 January 1943 at Apalachicola, Franklin County, Florida.1 Anna May Updegraff died on 5 November 2002 at age 82 years and 1 month.2
She appeared on the census of 4 April 1930 in the household of Elizabeth Virginia Fisher at Goldsboro, York County, Pennsylvania. As of 1982, Anna May Updegraff and Thomas John Kline Jr. lived at 715 Second Street, New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.1 She was widowed at age 72 by the death of Thomas on 25 June 1993.3 Her obituary was published on 7 November 2002 in the York Daily Record, printed in York, York County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
NEW CUMBERLAND - Anna M. Kline, 82, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, at Messiah Village. Born October 5, 1920 in Goldsboro, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Fisher) Updegraff.
She is survived by a daughter, Roseann Nebinger of New Cumberland; two sons, Patrick E. Kline of Hagerstown, Md. and Timothy A. Kline of Harrisburg; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; and a sister, Estella Fink of York.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Kline, Jr., in 1993 and brothers Robert, Alvin, Richard, Earl and Gordon Updegraff and sisters Lydia Urich and Pearl Gisriel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg. Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Musselman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 324 Hummel Ave., Lemoyne.4
