Leroy E. Richcreek was born on 18 April 1948 at York County, Pennsylvania.2 He was the son of Homer S. Richcreek and May Bankes.1 Leroy E. Richcreek married, at age 20, Grace Yvonne Updegraff, daughter of Glenn Updegraff and Lucy L. Sipe, on Saturday, 25 January 1969 at Yoakumtown, Pennsylvania.1 Leroy E. Richcreek and Grace Yvonne Updegraff were divorced circa 1990. Leroy E. Richcreek died on 27 December 2003 at York Hospital, York County, Pennsylvania, at age 55 years, 8 months and 9 days.2
His obituary was published on 31 December 2003 in the The Patriot-News, printed in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
YORK HAVEN - Leroy E. Richcreek, Sr., 55, died Saturday, December 27, 2003 at York Hospital. He is survived by his fiancee of six years, Denise Simmons.
A Tribute to Life Service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front Street, Lewisberry. Burial will be at Emanuel Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, at the funeral home on Saturday, January 3, 2004.
Mr. Richcreek was born in York County on April 18, 1948. He was the son of the late Homer S. and May ( Bankes) Richcreek.
Mr. Richcreek was a welder for York International, retiring with 33 years of service. He enjoyed both racing and drag racing with the York County Racing Club since 1977. For three years in a row he was the track champion. He also enjoyed block shooting.
In addition to his fiancee, he is survived by two sons, Leroy E. Richcreek, Jr., of York Haven and Brandon T. Richcreek of Hellam; a granddaughter, Shelby Lynn Richcreek; one brother, Jacob Richcreek of Enola; and one sister, Maryellen Backonstoss of New Cumberland.
