     Helen Updegraff was born on 24 January 1894 at Newberry Township, York County, Pennsylvania.3,2 She was the daughter of John Fortenbaugh Updegraff and Minnie Willis.1 Helen Updegraff married, at age 19, Clark Wilbur Ashenfelter, age 20, son of David Ashenfelter and Lucinda Brenaman, on Sunday, 9 February 1913 at New Cumberland, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.1 Helen Updegraff died in January 1985 at age 90 years and 11 months.2
     She appeared on the census of 1 June 1900 in the household of John Fortenbaugh Updegraff and Minnie Willis at Newberry Township, York County, Pennsylvania. Helen Updegraff appeared on the census of 23 April 1910 in the household of John Fortenbaugh Updegraff and Minnie Willis at Newberry Township, York County, Pennsylvania. She was widowed at age 86 by the death of Clark in July 1980.4
