     Clayton Chumley was born on 1 September 1918 at Claiborne County, Tennessee. He was the son of James Roy Chumley and Callus Saray Cline. Clayton Chumley married, at age 18, Ella Kathern McDowell, age 16, daughter of George C. McDowell and Pearl R. Fortner, on Tuesday, 20 July 1937 at Claiborne County, Tennessee. Clayton Chumley died in 1983 at age 64 years.
