Jered Ambrose Quigel1

     Jered Ambrose Quigel was born on 30 March 1919 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 He was the son of Jered Laylon Quigel and Lulu Belle Schon.3 Jered Ambrose Quigel married Edna Eleanor Waltz, daughter of Clark Hausser Waltz and Grace Kathryn Lynch, circa 1942.4 Jered Ambrose Quigel died on 31 March 2005 at 2941 Lickrun Road, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 86 years and 1 day.5 He was buried on 5 April 2005 in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, located in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Glenn F. Myers.6
     His obituary was published on 2 April 2005 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Jered A. Quigel, 86, of 2941 Lickrun Road, Williamsport, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at his residence. Born on March 30, 1919, in Williamsport, he was the son of Jered L. and Lulu Belle Schon Quigel.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warrensville for over 60 years and was a former trustee. He retired from farming and J. A. Quigel & Son Excavating.

On Oct. 14, 1997, he was predeceased by his wife, the former Edna Eleanor Waltz.

He is survived by a son, Jered C. and his wife, Susan M. Quigel, of Eldred Township; a daughter, A. Joy Fullmer and her husband, Gene O., of Eldred Township; a sister, Ruth Reed of Montoursville; five grandchildren, Jered C. Quigel II, Jody A. (Steven) Patt, Jill L. (Timothy) Barnes, Keri R. Fullmer and her fiance, Gerald Hammer and James W. Quigel; and three great-grandchildren, Samantha J. Patt and McKensie J. and Kaden M. Metzger.

The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Warrensville, 5685 Warrensville Road, Williamsport, PA 17701, with the Rev. Glen F. Myers, his pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the church or to the Susquehanna Regional Home Health & Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.7
