Beatrice M. Wilder was born on 17 August 1925.1,2 She married Richard Francis Updegrove, son of Albert Gartland Updegrove and Catherine T. Jackson, circa 1948.1 Beatrice M. Wilder died on 10 August 2005 at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, at age 79 years, 11 months and 24 days.1,2 She was buried on 15 August 2005 in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, located in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.1
Her obituary was published on 12 August 2005 in the Harrisburg Patriot, printed in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Beatrice M. Wilders Updegrove, 79, of 447 North Third Street, Steelton, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She was a retired Front Desk Receptionist at the former Holiday Inn, Downtown Harrisburg, a former member of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Steelton and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish.
Bea enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was the widow of Richard F. Updegrove and is survived by one son, Richard D. Updegrove and his wife, Cindy of Frederick, MD; two daughters, Kathleen D. Handley and her husband, Victor J., of Steelton, and Joan M. Haviland of Lower Paxton Twp; one sister, Evelyn Tardiff of Mechanicsburg; nine grandchildren, Jill Bolig, Debra Handley, Douglas Handley, Mark Handley, Brian Handley, Shawn Haviland, Sherri Schmidt, Stacy Updegrove and Trustin Updegrove; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Samuel E. Houser as celebrant. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9-10: 30 a.m. on Monday in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second Street, Steelton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of her parish, 815 S. Second Street, Steelton, PA 17113.1 The Social Security Death Index gives the last residence of record for Beatrice as Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.2
