Albert Gartland Updegrove Jr. was born on 11 March 1923.1,2 He was the son of Albert Gartland Updegrove and Catherine T. Jackson.3 Albert Gartland Updegrove Jr. married Suzanne R. Pougeol circa 1946.1,3 Albert Gartland Updegrove Jr. died on 21 November 1999 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, at age 76 years, 8 months and 10 days.1,2 He was buried on 24 November 1999 in the Holy Cross Cemetery, located in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.1
His obituary was published on 23 November 1999 in the Harrisburg Patriot, printed in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Albert G. Updegrove Jr., 76, of 309 Somerset Drive, Shiremanstown, died Sunday in Holy Spirit Hospital.
He retired as district manager from Honeywell Distribution Center, Toledo, Ohio, was an Army veteran of World War II, a graduate of the former Harrisburg Catholic High School, and played semiprofessional football. He was a member of the former St. James Roman Catholic Church, Steelton, and an avid bowler and golfer.
Surviving are his wife, Suzanne R. Pougeol Updegrove; two daughters, Daniel A. of Woodbridge, Conn., and Robert D. of Alexandria, Va; two sisters, Agnes E. and Joanne M. Updegrove, both of Steelton; and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10: 30 a.m. Wednesday in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Steelton. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Swatara Twp.
Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton. Memorial contributions may be made to Comfort Care Hospice, 205 Grandview Ave., Camp Hill 17011, or Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, 815 S. Second St., Steelton 17113.1 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Albert's last known residence was Camp Hill, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.2
