Eloise K. Jonas was born on 21 August 1921 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2,1 She was the daughter of Walter A. Jonas and Alice S. Tiebold.2 Eloise K. Jonas married, at age 23, William Edward Winner, age 22, son of William Irving Winner and Estella Melinda Kiess, on Sunday, 18 February 1945.3,2 Eloise K. Jonas died on 13 May 2002 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 80 years, 8 months and 22 days.2,1 She was buried on 16 May 2002 in the Quaker Hill Cemetery, located in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Glenn F. Myers.2
Her obituary was published on 15 May 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Eloise K. Winner, 80, of 551 Winner Road, Williamsport, died May 13, 2002, at her residence. Born Aug. 21, 1921, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Walter A. and Alice S. Tiebold Jonas.
She and her husband, William E. Winner, Sr., farmed together in Eldred Twp., and they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on Feb. 18.
Mrs. Winner was a member of the First Baptist Church in Warrensville for 48 years, where she was a Sunday School teacher for the builders class and an assistant in the nursery.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, William E. (Judi) Winner, Jr. of Williamsport; a daughter, Carolyn E. (Charles) Thomas of Williamsport; six grandchildren, David and Dale Winner, Jeffrey Thomas, Jewel Stoner, Cheryl Keiser and Christina Getgen and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at First Baptist Church in Warrensville with her pastor, Rev. Glenn Myers, officiating. Burial will be in Quaker Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susquehanna Cancer Center or the Susquehanna Regional Home Health & Hospice, Providence Health System Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701-1946. Arrangements are by Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.2
