     John Edward Berger was born on 17 August 1921 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of William Edward Berger and Anna Mary Simpers. John Edward Berger married, at age 20, Audrey Weir, daughter of William G. Weir and Maude E. Clough, on Saturday, 7 March 1942 at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware.1
     John Edward Berger was in military service during WWII between November 1942 and November 1945. He was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone in 1962.
