Lura Chaapel1

     Lura Chaapel was born on 12 July 1910. She was the daughter of William Lawrence Chaapel and Mary E. Plank. Lura Chaapel married William Harry Hartman, son of Clyde E. Hartman and Etta Entz. Lura Chaapel died on 12 October 2000 at age 90 years and 3 months.1
     Her obituary was published on 14 October 2000 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Lura C. Hartman, 90, of 25 Calebs Road, Cogan Station, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at the home of her daughter.

Her husband, Harry Hartman, died Feb. 11, 1981.

She retired from the former H. Warsaw and Son and previously worked for Flook’s Market. She was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness.

Born July 12, 1910, in Gamble Township, she was a daughter of William and Mary Plank Chaapel.

Surviving are two daughters, Wanda Y. Kurtz of St. Charles, Mo., and Joyce E. Smith of Cogan Station; two sisters, Jean Freeman of Placentia, Calif. and Dorothy Dangle of Montoursville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Spitler’s, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.1
