William S. Ulmer was born on 16 August 1924 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3,1,2 He was the son of Joseph William Ulmer and Marguerite F. Wood.1 William S. Ulmer died on 2 July 2001 at Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, at age 76 years, 10 months and 16 days.1,2 He was buried on 13 July 2001 in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Ronald D. Savits.1
His obituary was published on 9 July 2001 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
William S. Ulmer, 76, of Jacksonville, FL, died Monday July 2, 2001.
Mr. Ulmer lived in Jacksonville for the past 16 years and had previously lived and worked in California for 30 years. Born August 16, 1924, he was the son of Joseph and Marguerite Wood Ulmer. He was a 1942 graduate of Williamsport Area High School and served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater, aboard the USS Cabott during WWII.
Surviving are a son, Shawn Richard of Jacksonville; a grandson, Richard Alex of Wisconsin; two sisters, Laura Starling of Jacksonville and Barbara Dembitsky of Williamsport; two brothers Fred of Liberty and Wayne of Williamsport.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Montoursville Cemetery with Pastor Ronald D. Savits officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions should be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third St., Williamsport.1
According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index William's last known residence was Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida.2
