     Nels Hammer was born on 2 July 1894.1 He married Margaret Ruth Heim, daughter of Christian Ferdinand Heim and Ada C. Barlow, circa 1915.1 Nels Hammer died on 7 January 1973 at age 78 years, 6 months and 5 days.
     He was the owner and operator of the East Hill Retail grocery store in 1942 at York, York County, Nebraska.1
