Keith E. Ulmer was born on 4 July 1954 at Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Pierson Sylvester Ulmer and Dettiebelle Westbrook.1 Keith E. Ulmer married, at age 26, Mary O'Brien in January 1981.1 Keith E. Ulmer died on 17 November 2020 at Bennett, Adams and Arapahoe Counties, Colorado, at age 66 years, 4 months and 13 days.1 He was buried on 23 November 2020 in the Mountview Cemetery, located in Bennett, Adams and Arapahoe Counties, Colorado. The funeral service was officiated by Pastor Todd Froman.1
Keith E. Ulmer graduated in 1972 from Montoursville High School, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 As of 1992, Keith E. Ulmer lived in Bennett, Adams and Arapahoe Counties, Colorado. He retired in 2019 after a career that spanned 45 years. He was known as an exceptional and meticulous carpenter. Being self-employed for most of his career and his touch of craftsmanship can be found on projects large and small throughout the community where he lived.1 His obituary was published on 23 December 2020 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Keith E. Ulmer, 66, of Bennett, Colo., surrounded by his wife and seven children, went to be with the Lord Nov. 17, 2020. He was born July 4, 1954 in Montoursville, the son of Pierson and Dettiebelle (Westbrook) Ulmer.
Keith graduated from Montoursville High School in 1972. He enlisted in the Army where he served as private first class and was honorably discharged in 1975. After his discharge, he began working as a carpenter, a trade and passion he learned from his father. In January 1981, he married his beloved wife, Mary (O’Brien), and moved to Strasburg, Colo. In August 1983, they moved south of Bennett, Colo., where they raised their family of seven children.
Keith was self-employed for most of his career and his touch of craftsmanship can be found on projects large and small throughout the community. For the latter part of his career, Keith worked for Adolfson and Peterson until his retirement in 2019. He was an exceptional and meticulous carpenter for 45 years. He was a devoted Christian and member of the Grace Baptist Church in Deer Trail, Colo., and was a chaplain at the Truck Stop Chapel in Watkins, Colo., seeking to show those who were constantly on the move, the invariable, unmovable treasure of Jesus Christ. Keith enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish, and the importance of a cold glass of sweet tea, vanilla malt, or hand churned homemade ice cream on a hot summer day.
Keith leaves to cherish his memory Mary (O’Brien) Ulmer, his beloved wife of 39 years; his children, Amy (Phil) Doerner of Thornton, Colo., William (Joey) Kuhn of Kiowa, Colo., Brian (Tracy) Ulmer of Westminster, Colo., Timothy (Susan) Ulmer of Kiowa, Colo., Christine (Fred) Weisenborn of Keenesburg, Colo., Laura (Justin) Perry of Kimball, Neb., Daniel (Sandi) Ulmer of Kiowa, Colo; brothers, Gerald (Angela) Ulmer of Turbotville, Roger (Christine) Ulmer of Windsor, Colo; sisters, Marlene (Donald) Pepperman of Montoursville, Karen (Tony) Harding of Williamsport; 18 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
An outdoor celebration of Keith’s life was held Monday, Nov. 23, 2020 at Mountview Cemetery in Bennett Colorado. The service was be officiated by Pastor Todd Froman.
