Perry M. Paulhamus

     Perry M. Paulhamus was born on 2 October 1895 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of William C. Paulhamus and Elizabeth J. Waltz. Perry M. Paulhamus married Anna Ardell Hauck, daughter of Newton Hauck and Margaret Ulmer. Perry M. Paulhamus died on 29 September 1965 at Salladasburg, Mifflin Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 69 years, 11 months and 27 days.1,2 He was buried on 2 October 1965 in the State Road United Methodist Church Cemetery, located in Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3

Perry M. Paulhamus, 69 former Lycoming County prothonotary and state assemblyman, died suddenly Wednesday, September 29, 1965. Mr. Paulhamus was stricken at his home, Salladasburg RD 1, and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Williamsport Hosital at 5:35 pm.

A Democrat, Mr. Paulhamus served three terms as prothonotary from 1936 till 1948. Later he served a term in the state legislature and was a former chairman of the Lycoming Democratic Committee.

He was born on October 2, 1895, in Anthony Township, the son of William and Elizabeth Waltz Paulhamus. He was a graduate of the former Williamsport Commercial College. Since 1918, he operated a dairy farm near Salladasburg.

He was active in many church, farm and fraternal organizations. He was a member of the State Road Evangelical United Brethren Church, where he was a lay leader. He was a founder, past president and, at the time of his death, secretary of the Sate Road Cemetery Association. He was a member of the Pine Run Grange and a past district master of Pomona Lodge of the Grange. Mr. Paulhamus was also a member of John F. Laedlein Lodge No. 707, F&AM, and the Williamsport Consistory. He was president of the Lycoming Mutual Fire Insurance Co.

Surviving are his wife, the former Anna Hauck, and a brother, Orin, of this city. The funeral will be at 1:30pm, Saturday at Knights, 1912 Memorial Avenue, with his pastor, the Rev. Herbert Entz, officiating. Burial will be in the State Road Curch Cemetery. He was graduated at Williamsport Commercial College, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
