Dale A. Waltz was born on 16 May 1928 at Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Dalton Cameron Waltz and Rosetta Weigle.1 Dale A. Waltz first married, at age 20, Audrey J. Smith, age 21, daughter of Chester Smith and Edith Shipway, on Tuesday, 1 February 1949.2 Dale A. Waltz married a second time Emma Jean Fellencer circa 1993.1 Dale A. Waltz died on 6 January 2007 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 78 years, 7 months and 21 days.1
He became a widower at the age of 61 with the death of Audrey on 12 January 1990.2 His obituary was published on 7 January 2007 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Dale A. Waltz, 78, of 15 Hillview Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at the Williamsport Hospital following an extended illness.
Dale was born and raised at the Maple Spring Farm, owned the City Line Dairy with his brother Nelson and owned the Antler Lane Farm, where he was known for his produce and strawberries. He was a member of St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church, was a 50 year Mason, a member of the Williamsport Consistory and an avid bowler at Harvest Moon Lanes.
Born May 16, 1928, in Linden, he was the son of Dalton Cameron and Rosetta Weigle Waltz.
Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Jean Fellencer Strunk; a son, Gene R. of Bloomsburg; a daughter, Darlene C. Dolley of Picture Rocks; a stepson, Michael G. Strunk of Cogan Station; a sister, Gladys Kuhns of Montoursville; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Dale was predeceased by his first wife, the former Audrey Jean Smith and his brother Nelson Waltz.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, 2101 Newberry St., with Rev. Kraig L. Faust officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The family will provide the flowers and suggests donations to the church.1
