Clyde Updegraff Shank

     Clyde Updegraff Shank was born on 18 January 1888 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Wilson Webster Shank and Lucy Love Updegraff. Clyde Updegraff Shank married, at age 25, Elizabeth Virginia Graybill, age 27, daughter of John S. Graybill and Amanda Haldeman, on Tuesday, 11 February 1913 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 Clyde Updegraff Shank died on 1 December 1965 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 77 years, 10 months and 13 days.1 He was buried in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
     He appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 in the household of Wilson Webster Shank and Lucy Love Updegraff at Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Clyde Updegraff Shank was a civil engineer for Bell Telephone Company in Pennsylvania in 1940. He did so much family research in his lifetime, that much of which has been included in the book "History of the Op Den Graeff/Updegraff families" by June Shull Lutz. His records of the Updegraff family are contained in eleven volumes and can be found in the Philadelphia Historical Society Library, these volumes are priceless. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution through Abraham Updegraff's record.
