     Gerald R. Houseknecht was born on 15 September 1926 at Glen Mawr Station, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3,1,4 He was the son of Cloyd Houseknecht and Nellie Crawley.5 Gerald R. Houseknecht married Lois L. Wurster, daughter of Walter A. Wurster and Lauretta M. Bidle, circa 1963.3,6 Gerald R. Houseknecht died on 17 January 2005 at Manor Care Health Center, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 78 years, 4 months and 2 days.1,7 He was buried in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Chaplain Ted VanSchoick.8
     Gerald R. Houseknecht also went by the name of Sam.2 His obituary was published on 19 January 2005 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Gerald R. "Sam" Houseknecht, 78, of 16 Harvest Moon Park, Linden, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, in Manor Care, Jersey Shore.

Born Sept. 15, 1926, in Mawr Glen, Sam was the son of Cloyd and Nellie Crawley Houseknecht.

He was a graduate of Hughesville High School and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He retired in 1994 from Faxon Lumber Company. He was a member of St. John's-Newberry United Methodist Church, a life member of the VFW in Muncy and an avid hunter and bowler.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, the former Lois L. Wurster, and a son, Kim of Allentown.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with Chaplain Ted VanSchoick officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. There will be no visitation.9
According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Gerald's last known residence was Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
