Benjamin U. Kiess was born in May 1865 at Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Jacob Kiess and Elizabeth Steiger. Benjamin U. Kiess married Fanny Koch, daughter of Christian Koch and Harriet Ott, circa 1890. Benjamin U. Kiess married Mary Stabler, daughter of Jonathan Stabler and Regina Rachel Waltz, circa 1910. Benjamin U. Kiess died in 1937 at Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 71 years. He was buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
