He appeared on the census of 28 April 1930 in the household of George S. Boyd and Catherine M. Waltz at Johnson City, Broome County, New York. His obituary was published on 18 November 2001 in the Press & Sun-Bulletin, printed in Binghamton, Broome County, New York. His obituary stated:
Douglas Dixon, 81, formerly of Johnson City, died November 7, 2001 in Scranton, Pa. His wife, the former Lillian Taggart Nicolai Dixon, died in 1995.
Born in Johnson City, son of the late Leo and Mary C. Boyd Dixon. He attended Johnson City Schools and served in the Army Air Force during WWII and later as a recruiting officer in the Binghamton area. He was employed by Endicott IBM as a security officer. He owned and operated Arch Antiques in Johnson City and Shangri La Antiques in Equinunk, Pa.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 at 8:30 a.m. in St. Eulalia's Church, Blue Shutters Road, Elmhurst, Pa. Interment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Avenue, Scranton, Pa. 18509.3 The Social Security Death Index gives the last residence of record for Douglas as New Port Richey, Pasco County, Florida.2
