Carl L. Waltz was born in July 1920 at Pennsylvania. He was the son of Clarence B. Waltz and Eva Remalia.1 Carl L. Waltz married Anita Strunk in 1945.1 Carl L. Waltz died on 17 November 2011 at age 91 years and 4 months.
He appeared on the census of 10 April 1930 in the household of Clarence B. Waltz and Eva Remalia at Jersey Shore, 4th Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary was published on 19 November 2011 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Carl L. Waltz, 91, of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, after a brief stay at Sycamore Manor.
He was born July 4, 1920, in Williamsport, the son of Clarence B. and Eva M. (Remaley) Waltz.
Carl was married on Sept. 4, 1946, to Anita M. Strunk with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.
He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Pacific.
Carl was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
He was a 1938 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and was on the reunion committee, and also was a graduate of Williamsport Technical Institute in drafting.
Carl retired in 1975 from the Jersey Shore Post Office after 30 years as a mail carrier. Early in life he was a draftsman for Piper Aircraft and later worked for NY Central Railroad.
Carl was a former member of the Porter Township School Board. He enjoyed wood working, gardening and making wooden cut outs of sports figures.
Carl was one of Jersey Shore School Districts most avid sports enthusiasts. He was presented with a lifetime pass to all school sports activities. He especially enjoyed watching girl's softball.
He is survived by his wife, Anita; three sons, Stephen C. (Susan) Waltz of Tallahassee, Fla., Thomas A. (Jessica) Waltz of Fredericksburg, Va. and Kevin L. (Lori) Waltz of Watsontown; a daughter, Kristine L. (Stephen Sorage) Waltz of Montoursville; six grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren.
Carl was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Baker.
In keeping with Carl's wishes there will be no visitation or interment. Memorial services will be announced later next week.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Jersey Shore Girl's Softball Booster Club c/o Carol Yost, P.O. Box 226, Antes Fort, PA 17720, or a charity of your choice.
